Christian & ich sind nun seit 2 Tagen im Hafen von Santa Cruz de Tenerifa und bereiten eifrig das Schiff für unseren Törn vor. Georg hat nach dem Kauf seiner ‘Jan Maat’ schon sehr gut vorgearbeitet, sodass gar nicht mehr so viel zu tun ist. Neben Riggoptimierung, Beschläge und Blöcke Anbauen, Bunkern und das Einrichten unserer Rettungs- bzw. Kommunikationsmittel ist im Wesentlichen alles ‘chico’.

Unser Plan am Sonntag abzulegen sieht bisher also realistisch aus, die Spannung steigt und vor allem die Vorfreude. Vor allem stellen wir fest, dass in den letzten Tagen immer mehr Leute zu uns kommen und neugierig mit uns über unser Vorhaben reden. Man muss aber festhalten, dass wir hier nicht die einzigen sind, die in dieser Zeit von den Kanaren über den großen Teich gehen. So werden wir unsere erste Strecke bis zu den Kap Verden mit einer Gruppe von Norwegern gestalten, bevor wir Ihnen auf dem Backbordbug kurz vor der Inselgruppe ‘Ahoi’ rufen werden.

Heute Abend genießen wir ein letztes Mal ein paar kühle sportliche Limonaden und morgen gibt es dann sicherlich vorerst zum letzten Mal ein saftiges Steak. Am Sonntag sagen wir Europa “Adios”.

Christian & I have now been in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for 2 days and are eagerly preparing the ship for our trip. Georg has already worked very well after buying his ‘Jan Maat’, so there is not much to do. In addition to rig optimization, fitting and building blocks, bunkers and setting up our rescue and communication equipment, everything is essentially ‘chico’.

So our plan to leave on Sunday looks realistic so far, the tension increases and above all the anticipation. Above all, we find that more and more people have come to us in the last few days and have been curious about our project. It must be noted, however, that we are not the only ones going across the pond from the Canaries at this time. So we will design our first route to Cape Verde with a group of Norwegians before we call you on the port bow just before the ‘Ahoi’ archipelago.

Tonight we enjoy a few cool sporty lemonades for the last time and tomorrow there will surely be a juicy steak for the last time. On Sunday we say Europe “Adios”.
