Kiel Week 2018

Kiel Week 2018

As every year, there is a lot to do on the water during Kiel Week, with the small difference that we did not take part in regattas, but rather sailed the fjord in cruising mode. With the 'Prima' from Futura-Yachtsystems we took a little break and marveled at the races up close. In choppy seas, we enjoyed the comfortable properties of the variable-width catamaran - best maneuverability without leaning. And by the way, thanks to its lightweight construction (carbon processing), we were able to drive the ship with many racers up to 15kt…continue reading →

Cruising Fyn

As every year we sailed the 'Pogo 2' around the Danish island of Funen for 'Sailing Island' - twice. On board we each had a diverse group of sailors from both Germany and Switzerland. Our stops included the beautiful ports of Kappeln, Sonderborg, Dyvig, Middelfart, Bogense, Kerteminde, Rudkoebing, Faborg and Marstal. Sometimes very different winds allowed us to do varied strokes under the genaker with a lot of speed or under the engine with extensive bathing sessions.continue reading →
Skippertraining in Greece

Skippertraining in Greece

For 'Sail with us' we went to the Saronic Gulf for 2 weeks this spring. In the first week we taught a group of people who were willing to practice the trip for prospective skippers. For the most part, the content was the usual port maneuvers such as docking, casting off and turning in a confined space. Rescue, anchor and reefing maneuvers completed our practical sailing program. We paid special attention to imparting safety instruction and engine knowledge. The training was followed by a relaxing week with a closed private group, which rounded…continue reading →
Multi Training

Multi Training

Spoiled by New Zealand's sun for weeks, we went straight to sailing two days after landing in Hamburg. In Heiligenhafen, a 'Belize 43' was available as a training object for our customers on behalf of "Join The Crew". At low temperatures of around 10 degrees but lots of sunshine, we practiced mooring and doffing on a long weekend in Burgtiefe and H'hafen from morning to evening. The two locations offered the best conditions and the wind was stiff enough to demand everything of the newcomers on the catamaran. If you too want to…continue reading →

If we are asked which sailing area is the most beautiful in the world, the answer is: 'It depends'. If you want guaranteed sunshine and swimming fun, everyone immediately thinks of the Mediterranean. But what if you want to sail long strokes? Stable winds do not always prevail everywhere in the Mediterranean. The situation is quite different in the Baltic Sea, where western weather conditions often determine constant wind directions and strengths. A legitimate reason why the Kiel Fjord with the Danish islands within walking distance is one of the most beautiful areas…continue reading →

ORC European Championship Gdansk

A lot of teams from Poland, Germany, the Scandinavian countries and even partially from the rest of Europe were expected at this year's ORC EM in Gdansk. We did not take part, but delivered the Soto40 of the 'Sportsfreunde' on time, who prevailed against strong European competition at the end of the regatta and landed on the podium. The ORC WM will take place in DenHaag next year. There you will certainly find then many French and English teams again. We are happy to take your ship safely and on time from A…continue reading →
‘The run’

‘The run’

The regatta, well organized by the 'Freundeskreis Classic Yachten', did not leave us cold this year. The third edition of 'The run', which runs star-shaped from Kiel-Schilksee, Schleimünde and Fehmarn to Svendborg, was aimed exclusively at classic sailing yachts. The start took place at sunset, which made the 60sm to be sailed not insignificantly demanding. We started with the 'Tioga', which was particularly favored by the space sheet course, and broke out of the field right from the start. As a result, we didn't see any opponents half the night until the first…continue reading →
Cruising Mallorca

Cruising Mallorca

In the spring of this year we ended up on the favorite foreign island of the Germans - the Balearic island of Mallorca. In terms of sailing, not least because of the regattas that take place there every year is of great importance to the scene. The main reason for this is, of course, the predominantly sunny and hot climate, which is favored by the wind. Good infrastructures for sailors and motor boaters also help to feel comfortable on the water around the island. In addition to cruising, we can also be booked…continue reading →
Barbados

Barbados

Directions and clearing in If you approach the island from the east with a strong sea, you should definitely pay attention to the south-east reef, here high swell can quickly set in. You can clear in in Bridgetown or in the north-west and exclusive Port St. Charles. If you also navigate with Navionics, you will find 'Custom Offices' on the map. We have cleared in the 'Deep Water Harbor'. The 'Custom Office' is located at the southern end of the quay in a pink building and can be reached via VHF channel 12.…continue reading →

Day 22: Once: 127sm. Course: 257 °. 3-4 Bft. Wave: 1.5m. partly cheerful, partly cloudy. It is already very hot in the morning at 9 a.m., so it cannot be endured without an awning.
